Worcestershire Cricket Goes Red!

By Iain Wingfield

Ruth Strauss Foundation fundraiser gets league backing

On Thursday 15th August, Lord’s Cricket Ground will be turning red for day two of the second Specsavers Ashes Test between England and Australia in aid of the Ruth Strauss Foundation. The Worcestershire County League want to help raise funds:

"We’re bringing this to Worcestershire and playing our part in turn asking you and your club to get involved. On Saturday 17th August, we’re inviting all clubs across Worcestershire and The Worcestershire County League to make Worcestershire Cricket Red and help raise funds and awareness.

What are we asking?

Each club to add a suggested £2 donation to their match fees on Saturday 17th August
A photograph with both teams prior to the game and sharing on your social media channels
What will we provide you with?

Specially commissioned limited edition red wristbands for every player at your club to wear during the game
A stencil to paint onto your outfield during your game, along with a tin of red spray paint."

We at Five Ways Old Edwardians Cricket Club fully back this effort by the league to help a fantastic cause, and would like all of our members to donate the extra £2 with their match fee that Saturday.
