Practice returns to Masshouse...

As we head towards the start of Season 2021, ECB guidance has now allowed for the start of both matches and practice at grassroots level. Thanks to a lot of hard work done during the off season, and in the last couple of weeks especially, we are now able to announce that outdoor practice sessions will re-commence as of TUESDAY 6th APRIL. Unfortunately, we are still unable to leave the nets open at all times, so training sessions will be limited to the specific nights for your team/section:

  • Tuesdays - Senior Section
  • Thursdays - Women's Section
  • Fridays - Junior Section

Whilst the club expects everybody to read up on, and adhere to the ECB Guidance To Recreational Cricket In England, Club Covid-19 & Hygiene Policies, & the Club Track & Trace system (Documents - below), there are some notable changes to how things will work from last season. We are allowed to use both lanes of the permanent nets in the corner, as opposed to just the one last year, and we're allowed up to eight players and a coach in each net, providing all social distancing rules are adhered to. We will also have use of the mobile net cage once the weather allows us to use the practice track on the main square. General practice on the outfield allows us to have groups of sixteen players plus a coach.
You will no longer need to pre-book net sessions via e-mail, but you will be required to fill in a track & trace form every time you attend the club, whether that be for nets, to play, or even watch a game.
Again, we expect each player to provide their own equipment, including cricket balls, and ensure that they adhere to social distancing and sanitising regulations, but let's hope that the season starts, and continues without any issues, and we all enjoy a full and successful cricket season.
